Thaddaeus McClain 2019 Oklahoma Academic All-Stater

Byng Schools is proud to announce that Thaddaeus McClain, a senior at Byng High School, is among 100 Oklahoma high school seniors named as a 2019 Academic All-Stater.  These top 100 seniors were selected from 535 applicants. In order to be nominated, students must meet one of the following criteria: an ACT composite score of at least 30; a combined SAT score of at least 1370; or be selected as a semi-finalist for a National Merit, National Achievement, or National Hispanic Scholarship.   McClain

Six of this years recipients scored a perfect 36 on the ACT, and the average of this years All-Staters was 33.6.  David L. Boren is the chairman and founder of the Oklahoma Foundation of Excellence, which sponsors the awards. He describes the application process as “Oklahoma’s most rigorous academic competition”.  

Thaddaeus has attended Byng since Kindergarten.  He is involved in a variety of activities including Video Production, Leadership, Academic Bowl, and National Honor Society.
